I’m passionate about helping people get healthier, fitter, and ultimately happier.Unity Fitness is the cumulation of years of work and I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved here for far, but I know that this is just the beginning.

“I wasn’t into sports at school, but after having my children, I found myself doing early morning exercise DVDs in my living room and occasionally running 5Ks. In 2015, a friend convinced me to sign up for a marathon, which led me to join a gym.
While I loved how physical strength made me feel, the biggest surprise was the mental resilience I gained. I spent a few years thinking about becoming a personal trainer to help others experience the transformation that I had, but it wasn’t until I was furloughed during COVID and a final nudge from my partner, that I took the plunge. Now, I’m passionate about helping others empower themselves through fitness, experiencing the same physical and mental transformations that I had.
As for my own fitness, life recently has made it hard to stay as consistent as I’d like, so I’ve decided to set myself some new challenges—I’ve signed up for the Brighton Marathon next year and am also considering a Hyrox event at some point… fancy joining me? We could enter a couple of Unity teams!
I’m really excited to be part of the Unity community! I’m looking forward to meeting you all and sharing your fitness journey with you!”

I joined Unity fitness as a client over 7 years ago and haven’t looked back. So much so that it inspired me to become a coach myself enabling me to help others achieve their fitness goals and improve their wellbeing. Having worked behind a desk for way too long I can empathise with the struggles of keeping motivated to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

My approach to personal training is not centred solely on your physical development, my philosophy is that coming to the gym should be a part of your week that you really look forward, not dread! It’s time for you and it should contribute to your overall happiness and wellbeing, so my sessions are tailored to you with that in mind. So whether your goals are focused on weight loss, strength and fitness or even stress-relief we can develop a strategy together to take you one step closer to achieving that goal. I regularly coach group sessions and deliver 1-1 personal training, which I can honestly say, is the most fulfilling work I have ever done.
I do have a particular personal passion for Olympic Weightlifting, which is the discipline that I have chosen to practise for the last 2 and a half years, and I have recently qualified as a Level 1 British Weightlifting Coach. However, I use many different training methods and gather inspiration from a variety of disciplines in programming for my clients to keep things fresh and challenging.

Having started on my own personal fat loss and fitness journey with Community Gyms over four years ago as a client, I understand how big a challenge it can be and have a passion to help anyone on a similar journey in pursuit of a healthier and happier lifestyle.

I have a background of playing competitive sport; badminton, table tennis and netball, which have given me so many years of enjoyment. This, combined with my positive experience as a client at Community Gyms made me to want to give something back; so after firstly achieving my badminton coaching badge, I began to study for my fitness qualifications and have never looked back. To be able to make a difference in improving people’s health and wellbeing has been one of the best and most rewarding things I have ever done!

In the gym I like to work myself hard and love weight training and boxing, but I use a diverse range of training methods for my clients to suit their individual needs and aim to make each session challenging but fun. I strive to get the best out of all of my clients and hope to provide an experience that has my client leaving the gym happy and looking forward to their next session.

I’d been a member of various gyms over the years but lacked consistency, but horseriding kept me fit until I sadly lost my horse in 2017 and the lack of physical movement and emotional strain led to 2 and a half stone weight gain. In September 2018 I saw a Facebook ad for a 6 week challenge at what is now Unity Fintness (back then Community Gyms). I lost 8kgs in that initial 6 week period and have not looked back. Not only did I lose the weight but I gained a social network pf likeminded people so it wasn’t all about the physical results.
Fast forward a couple of years, covid hit and I embarked on my professional journey in fitness. I wanted to be able to share my experience and help other people with their journey to fitness.

I qualified with a Level 4 Master Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training. This course covered many areas but special interest areas for me were exercise referral, life coaching and working with adults with obesity and/or diabetes which also covered nutrition. I have also completed separate indoor cycling and kettlebell courses following on from my diploma.

I am a firm believer that exercise is not only about physical health but mental well-being also. I also believe that exercise is for every body regardless of age or ability and I enjoy helping people with their journey.
I followed on from my personal training qualification with a Focus Awards Level 4 Diploma in Massage Therapy for Sports which enables me to further support clients on their journey whether that be rehabilitation from injury or surgery or merely monthly maintenance massage. I believe regular massage supports training and aids recovery and performance in any sport.

I work with a variety of clients ranging from those new to exercise, people returning to the gym to ultra marathon runners and cyclists.

Every session is tailored to individual needs as I do not believe one programme fits all. I programme exercise to align with clients goals and taking account of any adaptations which might be required due to injury.
I am passionate about functional fitness and believe this should feature somewhere in everyone’s training. After all, we all need to be able to reach that high shelf or bend to pick things up way into old age!
My personal focus currently in the gym in strength training and I do this using free weights. Outside of the gym I am a keen cyclist and runner. I have run 3 marathons since 2020 including London and have regularly competed in the Dragon Ride in the Breacon Beacons and cycled from London to Paris for charity in 2019.
