Training built around your needs

Not everyone knows how to train around an injury, or has the flexibility to do a bodyweight squat or the right workouts for how their body moves. Our team has the specialist knowledge to blend strength, movement and injury rehabilitation into your workouts.

Each bespoke session is built around you and your needs, so you can get leaner, stronger and reach bigger goals than you ever thought was possible.

Session times to suit you.

Life is busy, so we always ensure we have slots available to juggle around your hectic career, family or life.

Nutrition and training advice

We’ll work closely together to create a 100% tailored nutrition plan that tastes good based on your budget and goals so you can put an end to poor energy and instead have clean – all-day energy. (YES. Pizza, alcohol, and fun can be on the menu…Shhh!)

We’ll guide you every step of the way.

Beyond your training and nutrition, you have access to weekly check-ins, and training feedback- to ensure that you make consistent progress along your journey.

You don’t just get an hour of training time with us…you get unrivalled support and guidance so you can achieve your goals.

My approach to personal training is not centred solely on your physical development, my philosophy is that coming to the gym should be a part of your week that you really look forward, not dread! It’s time for you and it should contribute to your overall happiness and wellbeing, so my sessions are tailored to you with that in mind. So whether your goals are focused on strength and fitness or even stress-relief we can develop a strategy together to take you one step closer to achieving that goal. I regularly coach group sessions and deliver 1-1 personal training, which I can honestly say, is the most fulfilling work I have ever done.

I do have a particular personal passion for Olympic Weightlifting, which is the discipline that I have chosen to practise for the last 2 and a half years, and I have recently qualified as a Level 1 British Weightlifting Coach. However, I use many different training methods and gather inspiration from a variety of disciplines in programming for my clients to keep things fresh and challenging.

My philosophy and approach to coaching is developing one’s health and fitness towards supporting their life pursuits in and out of the gym environment. Empowering others to develop confidence and strength in who they are and what they can do. Then utilising and channeling these to live a life to the fullest potential – a balance of longevity and performance.
Quality and functional training to develop efficient movement is a wonderful tool to be utilised towards our overall physical and psychological needs and goals. I am passionate about helping people better themselves through making exercise and training an enjoyable and important part of their lifestyle.

Within a class environment or 1-2-1 sessions, my goal is to support you to reach your personal goals whilst supporting your health and wellbeing in the process.

I am driven to ensure that the time you take out of your day to spend with me will leave you feeling accomplished, energised and strong. It is also very important to me the positive effects physical activity has on the mindset and mental health. I transitioned into a coaching role after years of playing a variety of sports including hockey and cricket at county and regional levels. I completed my ski instructing qualifications and have worked many ski seasons over the last 10 years. My experiences and interests helped develop my direction towards becoming a Strength & Conditioning coach. I am able to work with you on any sport-related goals, ski-specific fitness and have experience working in premiership rugby,
ski racing and right now with hockey, cricket and tennis athletes.

When I am not in the gym, you can be sure to find me outdoors! Particularly at the coast, stand-up paddleboarding, walking & running with my dog, cycling or cold water swimming!

  • BSc. Exercise and Sports Science – University of Exeter

Ryan

I have been a personal trainer/coach for over 7 years and in that time I have racked up more than 2500hrs in the gym floor

Coaching is my passion both 1:1 and online. Over the last 3 years I have been going through my own body transformation and now I understand fully the mental struggles clients go through when looking to out in muscle or lose weight. To combat this have created systems and processes to overcome nearly every roadblock you could think of

My style of coaching is clear goal setting, easy to understand optimised training with a no sweat nutrition approach. I am straight talking no BS coach, there isn’t a magic pill to get to where you want to be other than hard work and consistency over time. I want to get you in the best shape of your life both mentally and physically

I wil make fitness and health easy for you to understand, follow and fit into your current life without having to give up the things you love

I specialise in body transformations and I will teach you how to sustainably lose 6-10kg in 90 days and empower you with the tools to keep it off for the rest of your life

Having started on my own personal fitness journey with Community Gyms over four years ago as a client, I understand how big a challenge it can be and have a passion to help anyone on a similar journey in pursuit of a healthier and happier lifestyle.

I have a background of playing competitive sport; badminton, table tennis and netball, which have given me so many years of enjoyment. This, combined with my positive experience as a client at Community Gyms made me to want to give something back; so after firstly achieving my badminton coaching badge, I began to study for my fitness qualifications and have never looked back. To be able to make a difference in improving people’s health and wellbeing has been one of the best and most rewarding things I have ever done!

In the gym I like to work myself hard and love weight training and boxing, but I use a diverse range of training methods for my clients to suit their individual needs and aim to make each session challenging but fun. I strive to get the best out of all of my clients and hope to provide an experience that has my client leaving the gym happy and looking forward to their next session.

I joined Unity fitness as a client over 7 years ago and haven’t looked back. So much so that it inspired me to become a coach myself enabling me to help others achieve their fitness goals and improve their wellbeing. Having worked behind a desk for way too long I can empathise with the struggles of keeping motivated to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I’m new to exercise, will personal training suit me?

Of course! This programme is tailor-made for YOU regardless of your fitness level, training experience or even if you’re carrying niggly joint pain!

How much does personal training cost?

Depending on your chosen package, personal training costs between £40- £50 per session. The best way to ensure we’re the right fit for you is to book a free consultation call.

What’s included in 1-1 training?

Nutrition advice and accountability. Bespoke training plans that are created for YOU and YOUR unique needs.

Is there a trainer that will best match my needs?

Our coaches are amazing, but we’ll take the time to understand your goals and match you to who we believe is the right fit for you. This is based on your availability, goals, fitness level or injuries.

I don’t have much time; how long are the workouts?

The workouts are between 45 -60 minutes.

I have an injury, will Personal Training work for me?

This is very common. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or suffering from aches and niggles we’ll build the program around YOU. Training can improve and speed up the healing process.

How many weeks do I have to sign up for?

We recommend you do a minimum of 12 sessions. We say this because many people mistakenly never give things a chance in a world of ‘quick fixes’. Within 12 weeks, we do not doubt that you’ll be fitter, become firmer and build a body you’re proud of and want to show to the world like many clients before you.
